Event Checklists for Wedding Vendors: Prep and Follow-Up Made Automatic

Updated 18 October 2026

Forgetting the lash glue, a spare battery or a client's trial date costs you more than money. A checklist fixes that. In Brightdesk you create checklist templates once, for example "Bridal Kit Prep" or "Post-Wedding Follow-up", and attach them to any booking with a tap. You can set a default template that's added to every new booking automatically, and Brightdesk sends you a reminder before (or after) the event.

In this tutorial

Two kinds of checklists

Type When Example items
Pre-Booking (Prep) Before the event Confirm call time, pack kit, charge batteries, confirm venue address, collect balance reminder
Post-Booking (Follow-up) After the event Send photos/edits, record final payment, request a review, post on Instagram

Step 1: Create a checklist template

Go to Settings → Templates → Checklists. Choose the Pre-Booking or Post-Booking side, then tap Create Template.

Fill in:

  • Template Name: for example Wedding Preparation
  • Description (optional): when to use it
  • Reminder before booking (or after, for follow-ups): On booking day, or 1, 2, 3, 5 or 7 days before or after
  • Checklist Items: one task per line
  • Set as default: auto-apply this template to new bookings

Save the template.

Step 2: Add a checklist to a booking

Open a booking and go to the Checklists tab. Tap Add Checklist, choose Prep or Follow-up, and pick a template. If you set a default template, it's already there.

Step 3: Tick things off

Tap items as you finish them and the Progress bar fills up. Need something just for this client, like "Bring extra dupatta pins"? Use Add item at the bottom. When you're done, Mark All Complete.
