A good-looking invoice gets taken seriously and gets paid sooner. Brightdesk comes with 6 invoice templates. You can match one to your brand color and font, show your signature, and add a thank-you message. Changes apply to every invoice, including ones you've already sent.
Plan note: Free accounts use the default template. Choosing other templates and customizing them is a Pro feature, and it's included in your 28-day trial.
In this tutorial
Step 1: Open the invoice designer
Go to Settings → Templates and open the Invoices tab. On desktop the controls are on the left and a Live Preview is on the right. On mobile, tap Preview Invoice to see it.
Step 2: Pick a template style
Under Template Style, choose one:

| Minimal | Lots of white space, suits photographers and videographers |

| Elegant | Decorative and sophisticated, ideal for luxury bridal work |
Step 3: Set your brand color and font
- Primary Color: pick one of the 8 presets or enter your exact brand color under Custom
- Font Family: Inter (modern), Roboto (professional), Playfair Display (elegant serif), Montserrat (geometric) or Lora (readable serif)
Step 4: Choose what to display
Under Display Options:
- Show Signature: prints your digital signature as the authorized signatory
- Thank You Note: adds an appreciation message. You can also choose to show it in the header.
Step 5: Add a footer message
Type a short line under Footer Message, for example "Thank you for letting us be part of your big day! ✨". Leave it empty to use the default.
Tap Save Template Settings.
What goes on every invoice automatically
Whichever template you pick, Brightdesk fills in your logo, business details, client details, auto-generated invoice number, services, taxes, advance paid, balance due and your payment details. All you choose is the look.
Frequently asked questions
Will my old invoices change design? Yes. Invoices use your current template whenever they're opened or downloaded, so everything stays consistent.
Can I create my own template from scratch? Not right now. Pick the closest style and adjust the color, font and footer to match your brand.
